MY THEMES IN THE ELECTIONS: A SKILLED FINLAND TOGETHER

I am running for the Parliament for three reasons: competence, skills and know-how.

Competence is the most important capital of every individual, the enabler of a good life. Furthermore, competence, or in other words know-how and skills, is the most important resource of this nation, our own gold mine. From the point of view of the future of Finland, I have summed up the most central themes of mine as follows:

• Every child must be guaranteed a high-quality and good education for life.
• We have to raise the level of competence and education of Finns in order to guarantee the availability of a sufficiently skilled workforce and rise back to the top in international comparisons.
• We have to succeed on a broad front in attracting foreign experts to Finland. Our future is partly dependent on this, as we cannot fulfill the needs of the welfare society with our own population development.
